Sereina's Pirate Map

For a surprise on my brother's birthday, my parents filled a wood chest with pirate treasure, and I made a map for it. I used Google Earth to get a satellite view of the beach where the treasure would be buried (we had never been there before). I drew that on a plain piece of paper, and scanned it into the computer. I then opened it up in Photoshop, and colored it all in. We used some yellow-ish textured card stalk from the craft store, and crinkled it up after we printed the colored map on it, to make it look older. For the last step, we burned the edges to make it look even more pirate-y. We stuck the map in a bottle, and threw it in the ocean so my brother could find the pirate chest.

Photoshop Painted Drawing

A while ago, I drew a picture of Petuina from Veggie Tales. I also created my own outfit for her. Well, recently I came across "coloring" scanned in drawings in Photoshop. I decided to give it a try. Here's how it turned out:

Sereina's Origami

Last summer, I did quite a bit of origami. I found several books from the library, and was folding away! I cut 12x12 inch scrapbook paper that we had into 6x6 inch squares to use. Here are some of my favorites:

This one reminds me of a dress from the 1950's.

The butterfly is on of my favorites. It turns out quite lovely!

The bow was a bit tricky to do.

The sailboat is extremley simple, and only takes a couple of seconds to make.

For my sixteenth birthday, I made origami tulips on a little stand for place cards.

love this green dress.

Sereina's Fabric Bible Cover

A few days ago, I sewed a Bible cover. I used some scrap fabric that we had, and followed some simple instructions from a blog I found. Although it was intended for my Bible, it ended up being too small, but it ended up fitting my mom's.

I added a bow with some ribbon that I had, and I also embellished it with three little pre-made ribbon flowers. I used hot glue to attached them. I haven't done much sewing, but I think it turned out okay.

The tutorial can be found here.
